WHOOO!! Happy 2014 everyone! I hope this week is a good time for all yall to reflect on what you want to say you will have accomplished in 2014. I have a few things but the real goal setting will happen tomorrow morning! Anyways! CHRISTMASSSSS!!! BEST THING EVER!

So we got to spend Christmas Eve with our branch president and his family until 23h00and it was awesome! For a thought for the night we read the bible in Luke 1-2 and Matt 2. It was so fun to do that here because while it wasnt exactly like home, for the moment it felt like it. Also Elder Peters fell asleep fast so I couldnt help but put on my santa costume and fill up his christmas stocking! taking a picture was kinda hard but i suceeded!

Then the next morning was kinda funny because we were told we could sleep in...but not how long..so elder peters and i just looked at each other and wondered how long we would....Well we woke up at 9h00 and I made some cookies! We spent the day just passing less actives and amis and giving them cookies! Then we finished the night by going to another member's to do SKYPE!!!!! I loved talking to my family! It has definitely been a while.. but while my companion thought it was weird I didnt. It felt natural to just make this phone call home. I was so happy to do that. While I talked, my companion made a german dish called schnitzel!! YUM and it went so perfectly with the cheesecake I had made!

As far as presents go...GERMANY CAME TO TOWN!!!!! We have so much chocolate! Here is a picture..

The rest of the week was a bunch of other wonderful tombez-vous but we have had some fun as we try to find other things to do. Also this friday we got to go to Bordeaux for Zone training where we got to talk about finding and helping families be eternal! It was a wonderful meeting. On the way home we ended up taking a later train than planned but as we were sitting down I heard english..with an american accent! I never hear english on my mission. So of course I talked to find out who speaks english. Well it was a 17 year old girl that comes from TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!! WHOO! We talked to her for the 1.5 hour train ride to agen and she got off the stop before us but she is still in our secteur! She was very interested in us and what we do and really wanted to know more!!! Exchanged numbers and she told us she would let us know the next time she is coming to agen! That was cool because I had made a little committment to myself that the next time i heard english i would talk to them! Look what happened!

Sunday was by far one of the more interesting days. So church was wonderful. I really got to fortify my testimony that we get to be the mouthpeices of the Lord... I will share how. So our Branch President asked Elder Peters had a talk or if I did and Elder Peters just looked at me and said "uhhhhh Elder....." My heart sank. I didnt want to give a talk but I know neither of us had prepared or even knew we had to so I just said I would and it was kinda funny how immediately my mind began racing to find an idea of how i could talk for 20 minutes..Well the time arrived and I still had no clue and I got to the stand and just started talking. I talked about New Years Resolutions and how I want to take this year and become stronger and more mighty in my prayers to my Heavenly Father. 25 minutes later I closed a wonderful talk and honestly it was the probably the best talk I feel I have ever given but really because it wasnt me who taught. I loved it. We then spent the rest of the day visiting less actives that didnt come to church and it was funny because we got to teach them all! (that never happens) then a girl from toulouse called us and asked us to meet her at the gare. so we went and she told us that she wanted us to teach her mom that lives in a ville called aiguillon about 20 minutes away. Whoa! So we are going wednesday!!! Sweet!

Well I hope all yall have had a wonderful Christmas season and I wish you a happy new year! I encourage you to set some good goals and consider this:

Alma 37:37
37 aCounsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for bgood; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the cmorning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day

Je vous aime! Bonne semaine! Et bonne nouvelle année! 2014!!!!

Le Miracle 6.3 Joyeux Noël!

Premièrement JOYEUX NOËL!!!!!! I am so excited for Christmas!! We have had an awesome week leading up to Noël. I am especially excited for the opportunity to finally talk to my family! It has been almost 9 months! Crazy! I'm going crazy!

So Monday I already told you about Vivian (1). Sadly we had to cancel our RDV today because we dont have any male members that are available to teach with us today. :(

Tuesday we made the crazy voyage to Bordeaux for a Christmas Zone conference with the Toulouse, Bordeaux and Talence Zones! Il y avait beaucoup de monde là-bas...I wish all yall couldve seen how many packages they brought in. We had Santa and he delivered all of our packages! I got one from my wonderful family!!! :)

Wednesday we had some fun going out and finding people.. We had a few of those miraculous tombez-vous and ported houses a little and had some fun (because we had an 18 year old member with us the whole time)..

Thursday we went and found a family in the area book. La famille Lecomte (2,3,4,5,6) is a little weird. Unmarried parents and 3 girls that are real attention seekers but the Mom told us about a dream she had that Joseph Smith was a prophet even before she knew the missionaries. We are excited to go back and help them come closer to the savior!

Friday we went and taught another African woman named Géraldine (7) and her son Jeffrey (8). Luka was there to help us too and it was a great RDV just like the one with Vivian and we are more than excited to go back after Christmas!!

Saturday we SPARKED the mess out of this branch here in Agen. I planned with Elder peters an activity based off of a family tradition on Christmas Eve to build gingerbread houses out of graham crackers... Well we did it with speculoos. I told everyone they had 30 minutes to build them and then we watched Joy to the World and talked about the important things of Christmas. At the end of the movie we announced the winners! (everyone...) I dont think I have ever seen these people smile before until then. They just couldnt stop smiling and laughing and enjoying the time. That is what i am talking about!

Sunday was church. We didnt have time to fix my bike this week (my tires popped again last week...) so we walked the 4-5 kilometers there. it was fun. Church was good and after we visited some families.

Overall I would say it was a good week and this week shall be awesome because we have a fhe and dinner at our branch presidents house tonight and tomorrow...usually we never get invited over so I am soooooo grateful for that! I hope all yall have a wonderful christmas! I know I will! Joyeux Noël and bonne semaine!

Je vous aime!

Elder Dover may or may not have played Santa at the Christmas activity... picture is not from the activity but just Elder Dover making the classic french walking position.
And a picture we gave to all the people that came to the activity!

Le Miracle 6.2

....It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Toys in every store... I dont remember any other of the words. 9 Days to Christmas!!!! To say that I am stoked is an understatement.. I am so excited for Christmas! Especially here in Agen! It is a small ville but they know how to prepare for a good saison de Noël!

This week we had a lot of special wonderful things we like to call "tombez-vous" Now for those of you who dont know what that is i will gladly define it for you.. So a tombez-vous is when you set up a wonderful rendez-vous. Everything is good. We have their phone numbers and address. We have a specific time planned and an even more specific lesson planned. Now when the time arrives everything is perfect EXCEPT for one itty bitty tiny little thing... the person to teach. Ha we had 5 or 6 of those this week.. Show up and nobody is there and they of course dont answer their phones..Classic tombez-vous. I love them personally because we have to use the PLAN B but then when Plan A, B, C, and D have been exhausted and you have to quickly do a plan Z... hahah it is so fun! Well in the course of carrying out Plan Z this week... we talked to a woman named Vivian!

Vivian comes from Côte D'Ivoire.  She actually was contacted my missionaries there...but she remembers our name. She is a young african mother with 2 kids. She is going to get married soon! And invited us to come over...Today! Well I just got back and it was really a good RDV. We brought our member Luka and he taught what we call the Lesson 0 with us. Lesson 0 is where we explain our purpose as missionaries and also briefly cover the Restoration. We gave her a Livre de Mormon and she was open and willing to read and pray about it before next monday! Sweet!

Elder Peters and I have decided to step up the game and have set some goals for this transfer to push us a little harder. We are both motivated to do them and accomplish more than what we wish for so I cannot wait to get to work. It is a lot of fun being here with him. I have learned much more than I feel like I've taught him.

Ha also our ami Aurore.. She is kinda funny. She is so easy to set a RDV with and they are really good lessons. The only thing is we cannot say that it is a lesson otherwise she doesnt like it and doesnt accept our teachings. However she does extra homework that we don't give her. It is pretty cool. She is not really open to baptism right now especially because she is easily influenced by anyone.. Especially her boyfriend that is scared of us? Doesnt make sense. He doesnt know who we are..But eventually I am sure she will say yes. All of her friends have slowly become members of the church....she is next.

Well I hope y'all have a wonderful week! Christmas is so soon! Love yall!
