Sister Jenessa Dover, Week 2

(Jenessa didn't send a family letter out her first week, but individual ones. Here is her first official letter/email)

Dear Mom, Dad and Dover Family,

I have been here at the MTC as of tomorrow for 2 weeks!! It is absolutely crazy how fast time flies! So much has happened and General Conference was just fantastic! SO much about missionary work!! Its like that quote,¨ it´s not missionary work, its missionary fun!¨ And it really shows you how important missionary work is right now! The Second Coming of our Savior is truly near and He has called us and so many more to hasten His work. This truly is mind blowing. Im starting to understand more of Heavenly Fathers plan for US- all His children. And its incredible, we just connot even fathom what Heavenly Father has instore for us if we are obedient and live Christ´s Doctrine. One thing thats been harder for me this week is recognizing i need to submit to His will and trust in Him, and through Him, I will be a good missionary. I heard a talk they show here where Elder Bednar talked at the MTC on Christmas day and its called ¨Characters of Christ¨ and it talks about this exact topic and letting go of the natural man. He quoted the Cookie Monster and said hes the best example of the natural man and how true is that! That is SO hard!!! Im definitely pretty selfish but being here at the MTC I feel that I have finally started to let it go and by serving others I have truly learned that I draw closer to Christ. I love it, I LOVE feeling closer to Christ, and I have never felt the Spirit sdtronger in my life before now. This truly is His work and I know He is happy all of these missionaries are here to spread the Gospel. This is one of the most important works of the gospel! I loved hearing the most important though! FAMILY!!! It all begins with family, and guys let me tell you we have a GREAT family!

But we have started learning sentence structures for Tagalog and how to create sentences and yeah its hard, but I really enjoy it! I have strted a challenge to memorize 50 words a day and its been a huge blessing! I just have to study the format more! We now have 2 new investigators! JunJun and Glinda and both are a referal and we tracted into them, so its been pretty crazy! Last night my Kasama and I taught/ tracted into JunJun and it was so hard! it was our first lesson without notes and all from memory and we got to hello and after we struggled! My kasama was SO funny!! She just handed him a pamphlet about the restoration and didnt say a thing!!! AH! So i quickly fixed it in horrible tagalog and explained what it was about and that it would bring peace into his life and he agreed to read it and we're coming back thrusday! that was a humbling moment for me. I realized how important it was to be in tune with the spirit and im grateful that though my comapanion blanked out i was still able to work through the spirit to invite JunJun to come unto Christ. Though it was a teachable moment for us we laughed all night about how akward that was! Especially since the investigator is our Tagalog teacher! (hes from Honululu and we have some of the same friends!) Also Sunday night we had Vocal Point come to our Devotional and perform and talk to us and it was so good! I love when people bear their testimonies through music and talents! Im actually singing with a Sister from my mission in the choir tonight at our devotional! Can't wait! I dont get a lot of time for email, but love you guys! so much!

Also write through DearElder.com!!! We get them the day you write them and Id love to hear from ALL of you, YES that includes you Brennen, Mali, Jules and Cami :)
