Sister Jenessa Dover, Week 3

Dear Family,

Magandang Gabi Po! Kumusta po kayo? (Good evening and how are you?) How are yall doing? And how is the Texas weather? Its been snowing here!! BRRRR!!! I only brought these clothes for the Philippines so its been pretty hilarious for my Kasama and I!
I hope you guys are all doing well and are enjoying Spring! For the past week and a half, I have actually been sick with a virus here at the MTC thats been going around. Its been pretty hard with how busy we are and how cold its been to get better. But
Ive been doing my best to get well and its finally starting to go away! I got a blessing and medicine, and prayer has been a huge blessing to me this past week. There were some days that I have been just so dizzy, or had a fever and etc... that made it impossible to fully pay attention in my classes and thats hard since I really am trying to learn Tagalog. This last Saturday was my worst day and we now have 2 investigators we're teaching and we were going to postpone due to how I was doing. But last minute I felt that we needed to teach and so I prayed at least 3 times before my lesson to have the strength and the spirit to forget myself and use the spirit in our lesson instead of our knowledge. In our first lesson she asked us pretty hard questions about why she needed to know about the Restoration and my Kasama and I were able to explain in understandable Tagalog that Joseph Smith restored the complete gospel on the Earth and about the BOM and she invited us to come again! Our other investigator, JunJun, was really hard. He surprised us with asking about Prophets and the Priesthood and my companion who is usually pretty good in Tagalog was frozen! I quickly was able to explain the role of prophets and bare my testimony about prophets and trhe priesthood and about the Book of Mormon and I also extended the challenge to him to read the first chapter of the BOM and pray if it was true and he accepted! YAY! And yes it was definitely the spirit talking through me.
That is such a testimony to me that the Heavenly Father really does hear our prayers and blesses us, especially when we do His will. I felt the Spirit speaking through me and it definitely was a neat experience. The thought that comes to mind as I shared this experience is the scripture that you wont find yourself when you go looking for it, rather "When you loose yourself in the service of others, you will find yourself." I truly enjoy sharing the gospel because it is something I love and is precious to me, and missionary work is service. I know you all have a testim0ony of this gospel, even if it is small.

I have a challenge for yall this week at home, and I'm dead serious. I challenge all of yhou to share the gospel this week in a small way, even if it is just a religious discussion at school or work, inviting a friend to mutual, sending a note or message vis FB to someone who needs the gospel etc... and I want you guys to let me know what you did this week to meet this challenge! If you do this, the scripture I shared above will definitely occur and bless your life in ways you never imagined. The Lord is definitely hastening His work and you guys are totally part of it too, not just missionaries! Read/ listen to Elder Andersons talk again- its for yall :) I expect an awesome report next week!

I love you guys so much and thank you all for the letters!! It totally made my week! :D :D But Cam and Mal... i havent heard from you!!! :/

3 more weeks here at the MTC till I go to the Philippines! YAY!!! And YIKES!

Time is flying! Love yall so much and hope you have an amazing week! You're all in my prayers daily :)

Mahal Kita,

Sister Jenessa Dover
