Le Miracle 5.6 (Agen, France)
Joyeux Fêtes! The Holidays are looking sweet here in Agen! The ville is getting all decked out for Christmas! I am so stoked! They are setting up an ice skating rink in front of the cathedral here and they have christmas lights everywhere.. Also there are speakers they set up that play christmas music throughout centre ville and lucky us live right across the street from a good setup of speakers so we get to here the carols too! :)
This week was pretty boring as you would all imagine. Just packed full of boring non relevant stuff. So this is really all I have to say.
Just kidding. Too much happens in a week and kinda stinks that y'all only get what I remember! So this last week we had to go to bergerac so we could teach one of their amis to be baptized. It was kinda funny going from one of the smallest villes in our mission to an even smaller one. However the difference is that there are actually members there. I forgot to bring my camera so i dont have pictures of this but I went to a mangez-vous...food was kinda sketchy but I ate it anyway. The only good thing was the soup. Ha but there were more people at that table than there are usually every sunday in Agen....It was fun! We did a round of what everyone is thankful for. Ha there was one grumpy guy at the table and all he said was "moi-même." hahaha that was funny.
For Thanksgiving we had district meeting in Bordeaux and nothing special. We worked and had some good RDVs but nothing special. The real special part was Friday! We had our DL come down for an exchange and I cooked us a thanksgiving feast! Mom had sent me some turkey gravy, jello and recipes and I did the rest! Turkey (i winged it on the turkey and it was sooooo good!) Mashed Potatoes, sweet potato casserole, a jello thing, apple cider (also winged it), and the Lormont elders brought some cake thing for dessert. We also just hit up a boulangerie for some bread...because we can do that... :) It was so good. When the food was all ready we ate, and at the end did a tour around the table of what we are thankful for. With 2 europeans who havent really had thanksgiving it was really fun. Elder Williams (North Carolina) and Elder Jansen (Denmark) made that night so great!
While on exchange with Elder Jansen, I got lost. But when I found where I was, We talked to some great people! I had such a fun time talking to them about Christmas! I am excited to begin to really talk to people about christmas. It is such a fun thing. I love it here! It is so much fun!
UPDATE: Baptism for Christel on Saturday December 7th! Where? either a pool or river or Montuban... We shall see.
Pictures...thanksgiving! my welcome to christmas season.... this morning's hike to virgin mary statue
Bonne semaine! Je vous aime!
Elder Alec Stephen Dover
